Tanshinkan Dojo
Chief Instructor: Scot Mertz - Hachidan Hanshi - Ryuhoryu Kaiso

The Tanshinkan dojo is the new name for Mertz sensei's dojo in Kin Village Okinawa. The Tanshinkan dojo is the only authorized dojo for Ryuhoryu Bujutsu in Japan. Classes are available for military personnel and for Okinawan citizens. At this time we are only teaching civilians from the rest of the world via zoom classes. Classes at the Tanshinkan are intense and designed to truly forge the spirit.

Mertz sensei has been a professional karate teacher since 1996. He is available for seminars worldwide and he is also available for academic, professional projects, motivational speaking, dojo marketing, and curriculum development/refining. He is also the founder of Ryuhoryu, so if you do want to study Ryuhoryu directly from the source, you are always welcome to contact Mertz sensei directly if you are interested in training, or come by the Asato Dojo in Naha for classes.
